This communication will explore the use of literature in the English language classroom at University level. After justifying the use of literature as a way of teaching English language,improving skills and widening cultural and academic knowledge, I will explain the objectives and results of a year-long project involving Translation students incorporating the reading, study,summarising and analysis of novels combined with their own creative writing pursuits.
